Kaushik Basu (Kolkata, India, 1952).
Es economista en jefe del Banco Mundial, ha sido consejero del gobierno de su país, ministro de finanzas en Nueva Dehli y profesor de Estudios Internacionales y Economía en la Universidad de Cornell.
Ha contribuido con su trabajo en revistas y periódicos como The New York Times y Scientific America e India Today. Entre sus libros destacan: Prelude to Political Economy: A Study of the Social and Political Foundations of Economics (2000), Analytical Development Economics (1997) y Of People, of Places: Sketches from an Economist’s Notebook (1994).
Fondo de Cultura Económica ha publicado Más allá de la mano invisible. Fundamentos para una nueva economía (2013).
